ADV Reliant participates in Exercise Croix du Sud New Caledonia



Participating in Exercise Croix Du Sud 2023, Australian Defence Vessel (ADV) Reliant is providing support to a multinational dive team tasked with the identification of old World War 2 mines left behind in New Caledonia waters.

ADV Reliant is the Australian whole of government vessel commissioned to provide an enduring support presence in the pacific.

With its primary function is the provision of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) support, Exercise Croix Du Sud presented a unique opportunity to support the French mine clearing activities.

Working in the dive teams were Royal Australian Navy, United States Coast Guard and French Navy Divers.

ADV Reliant is just one of 10 ships participating in Exercise Croix Du Sud, with other vessels including Naval Patrol Boats, Frigates and Landing Helicopter Docks participating from various nations.
