Aid access to Gaza still faces near insurmountable challenges, says WHO chief

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO director general, said aid access to northern Gaza still faced insurmountable challenges during a press conference on Wednesday, where he also called on Israel to provide greater access.

Tedros said: Intense bombardment, restrictions on movement, a fuel shortage and interrupted communications make it impossible for WHO and our partners to reach those in need. He added: We have the supplies, the teams and the plans in place. What we don’t have is access.
