The Prime Minister of Moldova tells Times Radio: “The war on Ukraine has caused a massive inflow of refugees to the country. As of today, we have more than 270,000 people who have crossed the border from Ukraine. And we have about 100,000 Ukrainian refugees who are here in the country. This is about 3% of the stable population, and every eighth child now is refugee child. So this is a massive number from Moldova. And, um, you know, we have never seen before such a refugee crisis, the government has done everything possible to provide shelter food services, and, you know, first assistance to the refugees. But dealing with such a large flow would not have been possible if we didnt have an extraordinary mobilisation of every part of the society.”
