Exercise Eagle Walk, Chopper refuels thirsty tanks



Australian Army soldiers from 3rd Brigade in Townsville conducted a series of training activities at Townsville Field training area on Exercise Eagle Walk from 3 to 31 March 2023.

Training which allowed soldiers to strengthen & enhance capability and increase efficiency of aviation refuelling of armour, which provides Army commanders with a broader range of options for deployment of armour.

Army personnel use a CH-47F Chinook from 5th Aviation Regiment to refuel an M1A1 Abrams tank from 2nd Cavalry Regiment.
