As part of Exercise Septimus Stride, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment conducted a company-level blank-fire exercise. The Battalion fought a simulated enemy in the Townsville Field Training Area before deploying to Townsville Port to practice clearing additional enemies from an urban area. The exercise will prepare the 1st Battalion for subsequent sea to land training at the Sea Series exercises later in 2023.
