HMAS Brisbane takes part in five nation maritime exercise

HMAS Brisbane worked alongside vessels from the United States, Japan, Canada, and Germany, for a naval exercise in the Philippine Sea.

The Hobart Class frigate joined ships and aircraft from partnering navies, to participate in ANNUALEX 2021 – a bilateral training exercise, co-led by Japan and the United States since 1996. The activities aimed to test prowess in maritime warfare serials and prove interoperability.

HMA Ships Brisbane and Warramunga departed their homeport, Fleet Base East, Sydney in September for deployment in Southeast and Northeast Asia, and have conducted a number of navy-to-navy engagements, working with partners to address shared challenges including maritime security.
