Navy train alongside US, Japan and South Korea in warfighting exercise off NSW Coast

Royal Australian Navy destroyer HMAS Brisbane trained alongside warships from partner nations as part of Exercise Pacific Vanguard off the coast of New South Wales. It’s the first time the exercise has taken place in Australian waters.

Sailing in company with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer JS Makinami, the Republic of Korea destroyer ROKS Wang Geon, and the United States Navy destroyer USS Rafael Peralta, HMAS Brisbane participated in quadrilateral exercises, including maritime manoeuvres, high-end warfighting and ship-to-ship communication aimed at enhancing interoperability with regional partners.
