Palestinian PM urges countries to reverse decision to freeze UNRWA funds

Palestinian prime minister Mohammad Shtayyeh has called for the countries that have paused their funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), to reverse the decision, saying they account for 70% of its funding. Ten countries, including top donors the US and Germany, have paused funding following allegations by Israel that a dozen of the agencys 13,000 staff in Gaza were involved in the 7 October rampage. The UN has warned aid for some two million people in Gaza is at stake.
