Palestinians search through rubble after overnight air raids in Rafah

Palestinian officials have reported that 14 people have been killed overnight by Israeli air raids on Rafah.

Footage from Gaza’s southernmost city showed people sifting through debris and rubble surrounding damaged buildings. The Palestinian news agency Wafa said “numerous civilians, including children and women” were killed in the attack. The claims have not been independently verified. The prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, vowed on Tuesday to press ahead with sending Israeli troops into Rafah, rejecting international concerns over the risks to more than 1 million Palestinians who have sought shelter there,
