Patria’s strong background in aviation is unmatched. ️
In 1922, it all began when Hansa-Brandenburg, the first Hansa aircraft was completed under licence. Between 1922 and 1926, a total of 120 aircrafts were produced.
In 1940, the State Aircraft Factory started operation in Halli, Kuorevesi. In short amount of time, Kuorevesi became the centre of the Finnish aviation industry. Kuorevesi factory assembled 45 British Hawk jet trainers, which is already the longest-serving aircraft in the Air Force. Modernisations & MRO have all been performed by Patria. Finland entered the era of Hornet F-18 fighters in 1995, and Patria assembled the majority of the Finnish Air Force’s, more than 60 F-18s.
Soon, Patria is opening new production facilities in Jämsä Halli, where the production and assembly of structures for F-35 fighters will begin in early 2026. The acquisition of leading drone systems manufacturer, Nordic Drones, has strengthened Patria’s position in unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Looking ahead, Patria will continue its growth in aviation. Patria will manufacture forward fuselages and landing gear doors for F-35 fighters purchased by other countries.
Stay tuned for the next chapter!
