With the Oerlikon Ahead® Air Burst Munition, a cloud of sub projectiles is thrown towards the attacking air target. A short burst of Ahead rounds produces a high density cloud of subprojectiles in front of the attacking target, so that even the smallest targets are hit by a sufficient number of subprojectiles to achieve a mission kill.
