Ukrainian children can’t ‘remember how to read and write’ as 1,300 schools destroyed since war began

“They are struggling to remember how to read and write, how to do the basic maths and also struggling to cope with their daily life and with the continuous fears.”

The U.N. childrens fund UNICEF said persistent attacks mean that only about a third of school-age children there are attending classes fully in person.
