Ukraines president has said a first group of “about 100” civilians has been evacuated from a Mariupol steelworks, where thousands have been stuck below ground in dreadful conditions.
Speaking to Times Radio Breakfast, former deputy minister of defence of Ukraine Alina Frolova said: “Russia constantly takes people from occupied territories to their territory.
“[People] are enforced to pass through the concentration camps, where they pass through so-called filtration, not all of them pass filtration and are allowed to do something but some of them are taken to Russia including kids without parents and some of them are specifically, deliberately sent to Siberia or some other very depressed region.”
