John Kirby said the US still opposes a ceasefire in Gaza amid growing pressure on the Biden administration to push for an end to fighting as the death toll passed 24,000 people. Kirby said: We dont believe a ceasefire is going to be to the benefit of anybody but Hamas. We do support humanitarian pauses, as I said, to try to get hostages out and more aid in. But we dont support a ceasefire at this time
