US-UK strikes dealt a blow to Houthis in the Red Sea, says Grant Shapps

The UK defence minister, Grant Shapps, said British action in the Red Sea dealt a blow to the Houthis.

The pro-Hamas Houthis have said they are targeting ships linked to Israel in the region, despite some of them having no clear connection. The attacks have led shipping companies to divert vessels via a longer route around southern Africa. Shapps said enough was enough and the precision strikes in Yemen were authorised in response to Houthi attacks because they chose to ignore clear warnings.
