Speaking to Aasmah Mir and Stig Abell on Times Radio Breakfast, screenwriter Vladimir Nagorny urgently called for a no-fly zone above Ukraine.
In Odessa, Vladimir Nagorny has joined the civilian army. He said: “Im surrounded by graphic designers and business owners.
“Some of them are rich, some of them are poor, but we all sent our wives and kids away, and were ready to die, ready to fight Putin.
“And I really want British people to hear us.
“We can fight. We can win. We have weapons.
“But we need to close the sky because all our bravery means nothing if the bombers come, and the bombs fall on our cities and on our infrastructure.”
He added that he had never fired weapons but him and the soldiers hes with are ready to fight.
