Building data centers means building new energy capacity at the same pace.

To gain more insights on this matter, we have Joseph Majkut, Director of the Energy Security and Climate Change Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

In Joseph’s opinion, when companies set up massive data centers, they need as much electricity as a dam produces. And hence, new, clean and sustainable power sources have to be added right alongside these data center projects.

Also, data centers running on emerging power sources are only half the solution. By combining new energy capacity with smarter tech efficiency, we can balance the growing demand.
