24 soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment participated in the Sniper Pre-Selection course at Townsville Field Training Area in Townsville, Queensland, 2023.
During the six-day course soldiers were given an introduction to day and night navigation, judging distances, camouflage and concealment and stalking an enemy.
