Soldiers from the Australian Army’s 3rd Battalion and 2nd Cavalry Regiment deployed to the Townsville Field Training Area for Exercise Capital OTP.
The activity involved mechanised infantry and M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks fighting together to defeat a simulated enemy force.
Exercise Capital OTP was one of the final combined arms training activities for Townsville-based soldiers as the 3rd Brigade prepared for Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023 with the US military and other partner forces later in the year.
