‘Deal is underway’ to release hostages, says Hamas

“He says that a deal is under way for the release of 50 of those 240 hostages…and that this would be in exchange for five days of a pause in the fighting on both sides and for the release of women, children and elderly prisoners held Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.”

Israel & Palestine correspondent Noga Tarnopolsky says even though the rumours are “really heating up”, the public should “remain cautious”.
