Survivors looked on as bulldozers tried to reach the bodies of a family after an Israeli airstrike hit without warning Sunday morning in the central Gaza Strip. In the city of Deir al-Balah, the death toll from the single strike was not immediately clear, but witnesses said that the bodies of children and at least one woman were identifiable in the rubble. Israeli airstrikes have pummelled countless neighborhoods across the strip as civilians flee for their lives. Israel has urged civilians in the northern region of the Gaza Strip to flee south, as the military says it is preparing for an imminent invasion on “land, air, and sea” in retaliation for the Hamas attack last Saturday.
