Footage showed reinforced tunnels, with what the IDF said was completed with a meeting room, kitchen and bathroom. Israel has long accused Hamas of using hospitals, including Shifa, to hide its control and command centres.
Hamas and medical staff from the hospital have denied the claims. Israel raided Gaza’s biggest hospital, forcing the evacuation of patients, medical staff and thousands of displaced Palestinians who sheltered inside the hospital complex.
