Israel Defends Gaza War At ICJ Genocide Hearing Against South Africa

Israel defended itself Friday against genocide accusations leveled by South Africa at the International Court of Justice, invoking Raphael Lemkin, a Polish Jew who witnessed the Holocaust and coined the term “genocide.” In October, the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention called on the International Criminal Court to indict Prime Minister Bejanmin Netanyahu for “many expressions of genocidal intent.”
