From the depths of the ship to the open air. LSA Joel Turley spent his first eight years in the Navy as a Marine Technician, and it was his posting onboard HMAS Anzac that he found himself working with the aviation branch.
HMAS Choules has been conducting helicopter flight trials with the MH-60R Seahawk helicopter.
These trials facilitate the development of ship’s helicopter operating limits that ensure safe take off and landing conditions for the aircraft to operate at sea.
Trials were conducted both during the day and at night to ensure safe conditions were proven under differing conditions.
