Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff holds a news conference on the investigation into the death of a pro-Israeli protester on November 5. A 69-year-old Jewish man, Paul Kessler, fell to the ground during an altercation amid pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian street protests in California. Kessler died on Monday of blunt force head trauma after the altercation, the Ventura County Sheriffs Office said, adding that witnesses described the incident as battery. His death was determined to be a homicide, law enforcement and a Jewish organization said.
