Welcome to the V Maritime Security Course
Opening of the 5th Edition of the Atlantic Centre’s Maritime Security Course
Join us live from the Azores for the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the Atlantic Centre’s Maritime Security Course. The 2025 edition focuses on Climate Change and Security Challenges in the Atlantic, bringing together international experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to address the evolving maritime security landscape shaped by environmental change.
Organised by the Atlantic Centre in collaboration with the Regional Government of the Azores, this edition will take place from 2 to 6 June 2025, on the island of São Miguel, Azores.
The opening ceremony, which includes a high-level roundtable discussion, is the only public session of the course. It will feature internationally renowned experts exploring the impacts of climate change on maritime security and Atlantic coastal communities.
The course will be conducted in English and is expected to welcome approximately 70 participants from 35 countries.

Sessão de Abertura da 5.ª Edição do Curso de Segurança Marítima do Atlantic Centre
Junte-se a nós, em direto dos Açores, para a Sessão de Abertura da 5.ª edição do Curso de Segurança Marítima do Atlantic Centre. A edição de 2025 centra-se no tema Alterações Climáticas e Desafios de Segurança no Atlântico, reunindo especialistas internacionais, decisores políticos e outras partes interessadas para debater a evolução do panorama da segurança marítima face às mudanças ambientais.
Organizado pelo Atlantic Centre, em colaboração com o Governo Regional dos Açores, o curso decorrerá entre os dias 2 e 6 de junho de 2025, na ilha de São Miguel, Açores.
A sessão de abertura, que inclui uma mesa-redonda de alto nível, será a única parte pública do curso. Contará com a participação de especialistas de renome internacional que irão debater os impactos das alterações climáticas na segurança marítima e nas comunidades costeiras atlânticas.
O curso será conduzido em inglês e contará com cerca de 70 participantes de 35 países.
