Polish forces counteroffensive exercise just miles from Russias Kaliningrad

Air, ground, and sea forces teamed to train on a strategy to liberate the canal and surrounding bridges, located a few miles away from Russia’s enclave of Kaliningrad.

“We are trying to deter possible Russian aggression from there,” said Polish Colonel Karol Frankowski.

U.S. army personnel and vehicles also took part in the exercise.

Inaugurated in 2022, the Vistula Split Canal, located in Skowronki, allows ships to cross the Gdansk Bay and reach the Baltic Sea avoiding Russian waters.
