Cuban men are being recruited to fight for the Russian army in Ukraine.
National data shows the sign-on bonus one Cuban recruit received was over 100 times the average monthly state salary. The Cuban government have sent mixed messages about their citizens becoming mercenaries for Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.
