Theyve left booby traps in childrens toys | James Cowan

'They've left booby traps in children's toys' | James CowanSpeaking to Aasmah Mir and Stig Abell, The Halo Trust CEO James Cowan said that his organisation will scale up its demining program in Ukraine, where Ukrainians estimate that “300,000 square kilometres of their country is affected by unexploded ordnance.”

He added that Russians had left booby traps in childrens toys, and that they had “placed hand grenades underneath landmines so that when an unsuspecting Ukrainian soldier
lifts the landmine to move it to safety, it detonates because the pin comes off
the hand grenade.”
