Ursula Von Der Leyen Backs European Union Candidate Status For Ukraine

The European Commission has recommended on Friday that Ukraine join the designated candidates for membership of the bloc. The announcement was made by Ursula Von Der Leyen, the EU Commissions president, after several world leaders visited Kyiv in a show of support amid the Russian invasion.
