
He said: “The circumstances obviously came to light as Murthy understood that there was a problem, a disconnect if you like between a British sense of fair play and her tax arrangements which arise in the fact that she is a foreign national.”
He added: “The Chancellor and his wife in the position theyre in are entitled to some privacy around their financial affairs.
“And there is a question about how the integrity of our tax system and the privacy of our tax system is maintained. That may need to be looked at.”
Asked whether he had assurances that Rishi Sunak was not going to quit, he said: “Look, Rishi Sunak is an honorary Yorkshireman now, as a member of parliament up there and he knows well the Yorkshire saying: Tough times dont last, tough people do.”
Kit Malthouse also talked about Boris Johnson trip to Ukraine, as he met with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the issues surrounding UK visas for Ukrainian refugees.
