Datsyk the Deceiver (3rd Separate Assault Brigade)

“Welcome to Ukraine, gentlemen!” — Vlad “Datsyk” and his merry men from the 2nd Assault Company, 2nd Infantry Assault Battalion, 3rd SAB, use audacity and wit to trick the full complement of a Russian forward observation post into surrendering.

The documentary is compiled mostly from the GoPro footage of the assault group commander Vlad “Datsyk” and “Sapron”, the soldier working in a pair with the point man “Hops”.

Aired: January 21, 2025. Somewhere in the Kharkiv region.

This is an alternative, author’s translation. — By the time I was done with the translation, the 3rd SAB had managed to do their own, and did a remarkably good job of it. So, my translation does not add anything principally new. Just a few more nuances and footnotes, attempting to clarify better who’s talking to whom and why.

*Notes:*

*Khokhol* is the stereotypical Cossack combat hairstyle — a mostly shaved head with a lock of hair grown long at the top, dangling down. For some unexplainable reason, “the goat-bearded ones” think that the word is an ethnic slur, and calling us that is somehow supposed to be insulting. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oseledets

Here’s the undisputed unified world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk sporting an appropriately styled _khokhol_ https://shorturl.at/MGCp1

*Vald “Datsyk” Datskiy* – the commander of the 2nd Company in the 2nd Infantry Assault Battalion, 3rd SAB. For more see here https://youtu.be/UIePuA2g8us

(2:52) *”Hops”* — a soldier from the “Manticore” platoon of the 2nd Company, 2nd Assault Battalion. His call sign in Ukrainian is “Хміль” which can mean both _hops_ and _intoxication, buzz._

You have an option to choose whether you want to donate for lethal or non-lethal aid. It’s up to you.

And the *Come Back Alive* is still the most cost-effective way to help, as the foundation is fully licensed for import-export operations, and every penny of your donation goes farther, directly to the soldiers, without being wasted on unnecessary taxes, fees and middlemen.
