Later that year, the 98th Territorial Defense Battalion “Azov-Dnipro” had become the 1st Mechanized Battalion, while the Special Operation Forces “Azov-Kyiv” formed the 1st and 2nd Infantry Assault Battalions of the newly formed 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.
